I'm not going to post the reasons why, it's all been said before. But yes, I would love an outpost there. (Pretty please Anet? )

Make a uber hard quest to unlock the dungeon for permanent access.

BTW, if you are so afraid of that place filled with bots, think about ToA, DoA, Deep/Urgoz to see if we have bots problem there.

While I understand the whole "but it's the elite dungeon!" mentality, there's really no point- if you can't survive for 15 minutes getting there, you really have no business going there in the first place.
That 15 mins of clearing to it is exactly why IMO. You finally get something going and you have to take the time to clear to it. Then if your team build sucks you have to take another 20 mins to go back, make the changes, and re-clear back to it, what fun ~

Well, I was going to /notsigned, however, I've decided to /signed. Sorrow's Furnace is a dungeon which also is not an outpost. The difference? SF is very strongly associated with Deldrimor War Camp, and that is the go-to outpost to form groups for that dungeon. There are currently 2 outposts you *could* start from to get to Slaver's Exile imo, Olafstead and Umbral Grotto. For an Elite Dungeon I feel it really needs a single associated outpost where parties can form. Eye of the North is very PuG-unfriendly, due to the "missions" being "built in" to the primary quests. I believe an outpost would help groups form for Slavers' Exile.

Really useful to unlock the outpost once and removing the need to keep that Hero's Handook in the inventory just to enter.

and about the bot problem: Anet team is capable enough to code an antibot system like most registration pages "type the 6 digits that you can see in the disturbed image", add enchant strippers in the first area, and GG for bots.

gw:en seams so anti-player with all the solo quests and heroes. Having a town there would help build a player team.

I don't care about running to the dungeon. You can even add a level between the first one and the boss ones.
I juste want a place where people can easily group, where the party finding window isn't filled with people lfp for other quests/dungeons.

One of the fundamental socialization problems with EotN is that there is a shortage of specialized areas to focus players on specific tasks. There are only a handful of new outposts compared to a slew of new instances, so they do triple and quadruple duty in terms of what people might be there for (multiple quests, multiple dungeons, farming, minigames, etc) and as a result no one is ever in an area for the same reason (with one or two exceptions, like the Eye itself and maybe Rata Sum for that one quest people always seem to be lfging about). It's exceedingly difficult to make human groups in these outposts, and having a few more in places where there would be specific things to do, like major dungeons, would really help people find others with similar goals.

This is supposed to be a multiplayer game, after all. It's more than a little stupid that this entire expansion was seemingly designed to make it as inconvenient as possible to find another human trying to do the same thing you are.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't take the built-in opportunity to make the Central Transfer Chamber, you know, a Central Transfer Chamber. Stick a bunch of mirrored outpost iterations of waiting rooms leading to different dungeons off the main hub. But I suppose that would be too easy when instead they can piss everyone off with this single-player bullshit.

I kinda like going on an adventure in search of a dungeon. Next ppl will ask for the Duncan the Black dungeon to be repeatable, (without having to do the others again). Why not make an outpost right next to Sorrow's Furnace, so you don't have to go through all the Stone Summit to get in And it's not really hard to get to Slaver's Exile. I'm in the process of finishing the Slaver's Exile quest a second time. And never go it solo, alway with guildies, and we enjoy doing the run/Asura rep farm on our way there

Well, plenty of people don't like going in search of a dungeon when they've BEEN THERE BEFORE. MULTIPLE TIMES.

There is one. It takes about three minutes to get from the town portal to the sf portal if you aren't teamed with a pack of idiots. On top of which, as has been pointed out before, the furnace and the area around it are essentially the same place; they are thematically related and are part of the same content pack, sharing identical unique-at-the-time characteristics and the same types of enemies.

This is, in fact, the point a number of people have made in favor of turning it into an outpost; it's not difficult to get to, it's just time-consuming because it's on the opposite end of a fairly large oblong map from the nearest town, and there's very little you can do to speed up the process of getting there.

Perhaps you should try reading other people's comments rather than crapping on with your own joyous experiences with guildies. Half of this thread is about how it's difficult to get groups together because of the distances involved in going from outpost to destination, combined with the overabundance of unrelated options available to people within those few outposts. The 'take your guild' argument is bullshit, and Anet acknowledged this a year ago with the introduction of the hero concept and the tidbit that most players are not, in fact, in particularly large or active guilds. Those two ideas are complementary: it's hard to get your guild to do things when it's small/inactive/farming faction, so here are some extra skillbars to help compensate for the stupid hench ai that you actually spend most of your time with rather than real live humans.

If your experience is both irrelevant and to and unrepresentative of the entire point of the thread, don't post in it.

No, nobody is asking for that in this thread.

It takes a few minutes to get there and you fight <5 very easy mobs. Theres no need for it to be an outpost.

Getting a team is annoying, and often ends up with people who havnt finished eotn. Having this as an outpost will save the time wasted getting a team, and runnin their

All the OP is trying to say is, for the sake of party formation, make an outpost for slavers. It is much easier to find pugs if everyone in the district is looking to do the same thing.

nothing about running there. a setup similar to SF would be nice, everyone at SF is there for one purpose, to go into SF. No one doing primary quests, etc, etc.

sry if someone already said this, but sifting thru 3 pages of flame isn't much fun

Don't make Slaver's Exile an outpost, it's fine the way it is atm.
Give it a couple of weeks and ppl will see that that Umbral grotto is the place to form PuG's for Slaver's.
I for one do not want it to turn into another DoA
If you can't get to Slaver's from Umbral in 5 minutes then it's hardly worth continuing because it's gonna take the better part of an afternoon to complete Slaver's. Then you'll have the inevitable afk'ers, leavers, etc.
It's supposed to be fun and adventurous and turning Slaver's into an outpost will (again) turn it into DoA. "GLF Obsi tank and SF Ele then go"

ps. They might think about adding a merchant in Slaver's.
